Massachusetts authorities recovered a body believed to be that of Jill Kloppenburg, a 43-year-old woman missing since January 2025, buried under a garage floor in Tyngsborough.
Shawn Sullivan, 40, faces murder charges after a friend reported his confession; the remains were found wrapped in plastic in a shallow grave detected by ground-penetrating radar.
Incident Timeline
Kloppenburg was last seen leaving her Lowell home on Jan. 2, 2025; her phone went silent two weeks later, with a missing report filed Feb. 26.
On March 10, 2026, Sullivan’s friend alerted Nashua police about the January admission, linking him to Kloppenburg via databases.
Police searched the Audrey Avenue property Sunday, uncovering the body in a 5×3-foot patch under the garage.
Charges and Investigation
Sullivan also faces assault with a dangerous weapon and improper disposal of remains; he’s due for arraignment Tuesday.
A medical examiner is confirming identity and cause of death; friends noted her reliability in checking in, while family mentioned her struggles with addiction and risky associations.
