A 28‑year‑old Pennsylvania man, Devin Jenkins, has been charged with murder and possession of an instrument of crime with intent in connection with the fatal stabbing of his 61‑year‑old father, Kevin Jenkins, in Philadelphia.

What happened during the attack

On Saturday around 11:30 p.m., Devin was at a home on the 600 block of West Wingohocking Street in Philadelphia arguing with his father. Police say he stabbed his father multiple times and then left him lying on the porch. Officers responded minutes later, at about 11:34 p.m., after receiving a report of “a person with a weapon” and found Kevin Jenkins on the porch with multiple stab wounds to his neck.

Emergency crews rushed him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:11 a.m. on Sunday. Devin Jenkins was taken into custody at the scene and later treated at a separate hospital for a minor laceration to his left index finger before being processed into the criminal justice system.

Current charges and case status

Devin Jenkins is being held at the Curran‑Fromhold Correctional Facility in Philadelphia without bail. He appeared for a preliminary arraignment on Monday and is scheduled to return for a preliminary hearing on April 20. Police have not released details about what sparked the argument between father and son, and the investigation remains ongoing.
