A father and his teenage son have been charged with the killing of a woman in Oregon.
Detectives from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and the Oregon City Police Department arrested William Glen Blake, 56, on Thursday, Oct. 23, for the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Jennifer Ruth Stuart, 38, according to a news release issued by the CCSO on Friday, Oct. 24.
Blake has since been charged with second-degree murder, body abuse, unauthorized use of a firearm, and evidence tampering. He is presently being jailed without bond, according to Clackamas County public records.
Authorities also detained Blake’s 15-year-old son for allegedly relocating Stuart’s remains, according to the release. He was arrested on charges of abusing a corpse and tampering with physical evidence. Authorities have not published the teen’s name at this time.
Blake is believed to have slain Stuart on August 15 at their shared Oregon City home. Her body was recovered on September 1 in Mount Hood National Forest, Clackamas County.
In an update released on Saturday, October 25, the CCSO stated that investigators have also spoken with Blake’s 17-year-old son about the alleged crime.
PEOPLE attempted to contact the CCSO and the Oregon City Police Department for comment on Sunday, Oct. 26, but did not receive an instant response.
“She was a good girl, but she’s in a better place, I guess,” Stuart’s friend, Mike Chaney, told Fox station KPTV.
“When I found out, it stung in my gut. Why should we lose the good when there are so many nasty people?” He added.
