Cameron Martin, a 20-year-old from East Liverpool, Ohio, faces felony charges for the July 19, 2025, death of his pregnant girlfriend, 21-year-old Stephanie Householder, and her unborn child. Prosecutors allege he recklessly backed his car into her after she exited the vehicle during an argument at Broadway Wharf.
Incident Details
Householder stormed out amid a relationship dispute and walked behind the car, where Martin reversed and struck her in the parking lot. Police Chief John Lane noted Martin claimed he watched her in the mirror but hit her accidentally, cooperating fully by providing a statement and his phone. She was airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital but succumbed to injuries along with the fetus.
Charges Filed
A grand jury indicted Martin on two counts each of involuntary manslaughter (first-degree felony) and aggravated vehicular homicide (third-degree felony), citing the unlawful termination of the pregnancy and reckless operation during an assault attempt. He was arrested over the weekend after the secret indictment and is held on $100,000 cash/surety bond. Arraignment is set for February 26 before Judge Scott Washam.
Aftermath Events
The next day, Martin organized a candlelight vigil at the wharf for Householder, but it escalated into near-riot conditions, forcing police dispersal. Initial investigation suggested no clear intent, but charges reflect reckless conduct.
