Federal investigators are still looking for a Michigan woman suspected of killing shooting her lover in 2018, dismembering his body, and discarding his remains on a highway.
Tamera Renee Williams, 46, was placed to the U.S. Marshals’ 15 Most Wanted Fugitives list for 2023.
She is suspected of killing her 39-year-old boyfriend, David Carter, and dismembering and throwing his body parts on I-75 near Hancock, Ohio, in September 2018.
Three months later, a felony arrest warrant was issued on accusations of first-degree murder, disinterring a deceased person, and tampering with evidence. Authorities were unable to locate Williams, who is still on the run as of 2025.
A $25,000 reward has been offered for information that leads to her capture.
“Tamera Williams stands accused of a heinous, brutal crime,” US Marshals Director Ronald L. Davis stated in 2023. “Her arrest is our number one priority, and David Carter’s family deserves justice. I highly encourage anyone with information about her location to contact us so that we can take her into custody as soon and safely as possible.”
According to WXYZ, Williams allegedly traveled to Brooklyn, New York, following the killing.
“I just pray that whoever is helping her turns her in,” Carter’s father, Elton, told the publication in 2023.
In 2022, FOX’s “America’s Most Wanted,” Investigation Discovery’s “In Pursuit with John Walsh,” and Netflix’s “Unsolved Mysteries” all aired episodes about Williams’ case.
According to the US Marshals Service, Williams is a trained phlebotomist who may be working in a medical clinic. Authorities stated Williams was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a Freemason group. She is described as 5-foot-5, with a huge rose tattoo on her left shoulder.
Carter’s sister, Tasia Carter-Jackson, told WXYZ that her brother “was very kind,” and that “he was an amazing dad, a business worker, and a hard worker.”
