Joseph Daniels, 49, Angelina Williams, 32, and Ray Gibase, 47, are accused of leaving their 4‑month‑old baby in a car at a crime scene in Upper Chichester Township, Pennsylvania, while they allegedly stole and cut copper cable near the 3100 block of Meetinghouse Road. The incident unfolded in the early morning hours of March 30, 2026.
What happened at the scene
- Around 2:15 a.m., police responded to reports of tampering with cable wires involving a maroon Chrysler 300 and a Jeep Liberty driven by the three suspects. Officers saw the Chrysler with cable wire protruding from the open trunk and hand saws in plain view on the passenger seats, indicating they were cutting an inactive Verizon cable.
- Police towed the Chrysler back to the station and, while checking the exterior, an officer noticed a blanket in the backseat moving slightly. Inside, they discovered an infant boy safely asleep in a baby car seat. The baby was taken to a local hospital, where he was found unharmed.
Link between the suspects and the baby
- Williams is identified as the infant’s mother, and police say she admitted to participating in the cable‑theft scheme. Daniels is described as the baby’s father.
- When officers first arrived, the trio allegedly drove away in the Jeep; later, the Aston Police Department stopped that vehicle and found Williams and Gibase inside, along with a saw blade under the passenger seat.
- Gibase was initially released but later turned himself in, while Daniels was pulled over in the maroon Chrysler 300 on Saturday with three women and arrested on an active warrant issued by Upper Chichester police. It is not clear from reports whether this was the same Chrysler where the baby was found.
Charges and court status
All three face multiple charges, including:
- Theft by unlawful taking
- Endangering the welfare of children
- Theft of secondary metal (stolen copper cable)
- Receiving stolen property
- Criminal mischief
- Criminal conspiracy
- Possessing an instrument of crime
- Williams is being held on $100,000 bail, Daniels on $45,000 bail, and Gibase on $50,000 bail.
- Williams is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Thursday, while Daniels and Gibase have their hearings set for April 16, 2026.
The case has drawn attention for the striking image of a 4‑month‑old left alone in a towed vehicle at a theft scene, underscoring the child‑endangerment and reckless choices at the center of the criminal charges.
