Kevin Castiglia, 55, faces three counts of criminal homicide for allegedly stabbing his parents, 90-year-old Fred Castiglia and 84-year-old Judith Castiglia, plus his sister, 53-year-old Deborah Castiglia, in their Churchville, Pennsylvania home. Authorities discovered the bodies on Monday after a five-hour standoff, with Kevin arrested in a second-floor bedroom.
Incident Timeline
Deborah’s boyfriend visited her parents’ Heather Road home on Sunday after losing contact with her, spotting her maroon Kia SUV but getting no answer. He returned Monday around 2:10 p.m., where Kevin answered in a robe, claimed Deborah was on vacation, brandished a large chef’s knife, and threatened to kill him.
Police responded for a welfare check, encountering Kevin armed with two knives, one bloodied. After he ignored questions, pointed knives at officers, and removed Taser prongs, a standoff ensued until entry revealed the bodies: parents in the master bedroom and Deborah in the kitchen.
Arrest and Statements
Kevin was treated at a hospital, where he told a doctor, “I hurt someone,” followed by confessions: “I killed my parents in their sleep” and “I killed my sister when she found them.” He faces additional charges of abuse of a corpse and recklessly endangering others, held without bail in Bucks County jail.
Court Proceedings
Castiglia appeared in court Tuesday, with a preliminary hearing set for February 12. No motive has been disclosed by investigators.
