A 25-year-old Georgia man faces felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery charges for shooting 28-year-old security guard Jordan Alexander Jones outside Saddlebar in Acworth after Jones intervened in a post-closing fight.

Shooting Incident
Shortly after 2:40 a.m., Acworth police responded to the Cowan Road bar, finding Jones wounded; he died at the hospital despite aid. Jones was breaking up Parsons’ assault on a woman when Parsons allegedly grabbed a gun and shot him in the back.

Victim’s Character
Jones, a Mountain View High School grad, substitute teacher, and football coach, was hailed by his uncle Edward as non-violent, using a bear hug to de-escalate. Friends like Dijon Joseph called him a “big brother figure”; the bar praised his courage in protecting others.

Arrest and Aftermath
Officers found Parsons walking nearby and arrested him; he’s held without bond at Cobb County Jail, with no next court date listed. Jones’ school noted his lasting impact as a leader and role model.
