A 15-year-old girl awoke on a South Florida living-room couch to her sister searching through her phone; minutes later, she was bleeding on the floor, stabbed roughly ten times, authorities said.
Lynn My Le, 26, was arrested Sunday around 3:20 p.m. at her Cutler Bay residence and charged with felony attempted murder, according to an arrest document obtained by CBS News.
After the youngster confronted Le and attempted to reclaim her phone, Le armed herself with a knife and stabbed her four times in the back before collapsing, according to Local10 and NBC Miami.
According to CBS, Le only stopped when “the victim pleaded for her life,” according to the complaint.
According to the outlet, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputies arrived and discovered the victim with at least ten puncture wounds.
“The teen is critical, but stable,” Detective Samantha Choon told the Miami Herald on Monday.
Le refused to speak with detectives and was lodged into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to CBS.
Le appeared in court on Monday and remained in detention; a judge rejected release, granted her a public defender, and ordered her to stay away from the alleged victim, according to Local10, NBC Miami, and the Miami Herald.
