A helicopter crash in Boynton Beach, Florida, on Monday left two people dead after the aircraft crashed into a vacant warehouse. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the Robinson R44 helicopter, with two occupants on board, plummeted through the roof of the building around 12:30 p.m..

Crash Details

Police and fire officials arrived at the scene to discover the wreckage of the small helicopter lodged in the warehouse’s roof. Boynton Beach Police confirmed that there were no survivors from the crash.

The victims’ identities have not yet been released, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.

Eyewitness Account

Rhett Savidge, a witness who was driving to work at a nearby tractor dealership, described seeing the maroon-colored helicopter suddenly drop from the sky. “It just nosedived right into the roof, and it punched a hole in the roof,” Savidge told the Sun Sentinel.

The crash also damaged a sprinkler system inside the warehouse when the helicopter struck the building.

Investigation Underway

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is leading the investigation into the crash to determine what caused the tragic accident.
