This horrific attack shook Kampala, Uganda, on April 2, 2026. A 39-year-old man, Okello Christopher Onyum, stabbed four toddlers to death at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program preschool around 11 a.m. local time.
The Victims
All pupils at the daycare:

- Ignatius Sserwange, 3 (boy)
- Kaise Alungat, 3 (girl)
Ten other children were safely returned to parents.
What Happened
Onyum had inquired about enrolling a child, paid admission fees, then returned Thursday and attacked. Furious parents tried assaulting him before police arrived—he was arrested on-site in handcuffs. Motive unknown; he’s under interrogation.
Uganda Police extended condolences and pledged a full investigation for justice.
