A California man is hailing his two children as heroes after they reportedly helped save his life after the three of them were involved in a road rage incident earlier this month.
Chris Davison is recovering from several stab wounds sustained during the October 17 incident, according to his family’s GoFundMe page.

A close family friend who was present “did everything he could to save Chris,” the victim’s wife stated in the campaign.
Noah Kane was detained in connection with the incident, the California Highway Patrol told PEOPLE in a statement on Wednesday, October 29. Davison was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the statement.

Davison claimed that as he got out to check what was going on, Kane, who had also emerged from his vehicle, attacked him with a knife, according to a CHP statement to PEOPLE.
“Not one word, just a demonic stare in this man’s eyes,” Davison said about the incident, according to 10 News.
As Davison attempted to defend himself by covering his head, Kane allegedly began stabbing him many times on the side before driving away. Davison said his horrified children instantly began life-saving efforts: his son used a dinosaur sticker and a phone charger wire to try stop the bleeding, while his daughter cried for assistance.
“In a princess dress, hanging out the car, yelling for somebody to please stop,” Davison recollects.
Davison urged his kid to find any type of tape, including the dinosaur sticker. When the child realized the sticker wasn’t sufficient, he “went through the vehicle, front to back” and discovered a phone charger cord to assist stop the bleeding.
According to the source, the children even removed their own sweaters in an attempt to stop the bleeding.
“My youngster screamed, ‘Dad, stay awake. “Stay awake,” Davison recalled.
Davison’s friend, who was close on a motorcycle, also came to his rescue, he told the site. That friend washed the blood from Davison’s phone and dialed 911.
Kane has pleaded not guilty to many charges, including attempted murder, 10 News said. His attorney’s information was not readily available in online court records.
The CHP did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for additional information about Kane’s charges.
