Cops say a teen stabbed a friend after 'deliberately' splashing beer on his phone while frying the fish they caught after a day out on the sea.

A 19-year-old Miami man, Moises Mendoza, faces serious charges after allegedly stabbing a friend multiple times during an argument over spilled beer on his phone. The incident occurred Sunday night in the Allapattah area following a day of fishing and cooking fish with friends.

Incident Details

The altercation began when the victim accidentally spilled beer on Mendoza’s phone while changing music. Tensions escalated in a vehicle during a drive home, where the victim threw beer at Mendoza, prompting him to stab the victim with a red-handled kitchen knife.

Police Response

The victim flagged down an officer near NW 30th Avenue and NW 11th Street around 10 p.m., suffering multiple stab wounds. Police tracked the bloodied red Toyota Tundra via cameras, recovered evidence like the discarded knife and shirt, and obtained Mendoza’s confession at his home.

Mendoza, charged with attempted second-degree murder and evidence tampering, was arrested early Monday and held without bond. He pleaded not guilty in court, where a judge denied bond and issued a stay-away order from the victim.
