Charlotte — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reports that one person has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault in Uptown.
Around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a call for an assault with a deadly weapon in the 400 block of East Trade Street. When they arrived, they discovered one victim with non-life-threatening wounds from a gunshot.
Shortly after, a suspect was arrested and a firearm was discovered, according to officials.
CMPD has had an active weekend so far, investigating two homicides on Saturday morning and another on Friday morning.
