A Chicago man preparing to welcome his second child has died following a bar fight, as police search for multiple individuals believed to be involved.
Deadly Altercation in Avondale
Authorities say 25-year-old Xander Kazanowski suffered severe head injuries during an altercation at the Tune Up Bar on West Belmont Avenue in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood on March 24.
Officers responded to the scene around 3:30 a.m. and found Kazanowski unresponsive outside the bar. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Death Ruled a Homicide
An autopsy conducted by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Kazanowski died from blunt head trauma caused by an assault. His death has been officially ruled a homicide.
Remembered by Family and Friends
Kazanowski’s loved ones say he leaves behind a young daughter, Thea, and was expecting a son, John.
In a fundraiser created to support his family, relatives described him as a vibrant and creative person who inspired those around him.
They said he loved nature, the outdoors, and animals, including his dog, Zeus.
Search for Suspects
Police are now asking for the public’s help in identifying four individuals believed to be connected to the incident. Investigators say the individuals were seen on surveillance footage entering the bar before the altercation.
Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the fight.

Cook County Crime Stoppers has announced a $10,000 reward for information that leads to arrests in the case.
Officials are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward, emphasizing that someone may have key information that could help bring those responsible to justice.
