Aiken, South Carolina — Aiken officials are choosing a name for the new Powderhouse Connector.
Phases I and II are fully funded, with Phase I already started.
Staff presented alternatives such as:
Public Safety Memorial Drive, Tribute Parkway, Officer Memorial Boulevard, and Service Memorial Parkway.
Remember the Blue Parkway or Boulevard.
The Thin Blue Line, also known as Thin Blue Line Boulevard or Pkwy, is located on Aiken Pkwy.
City of Trees Parkway
The council may name two roundabouts after cops Scotty Richardson and Sandy Rogers, who were slain in the line of duty.
One is near South Centennial Avenue, while the other is near Old Powderhouse Road.
They will debate it at a work session on Monday at 5 p.m.
