'Baby, I love you; please stop. I'm dying': Wife begged for her life as husband murdered her with scissors because he suspected she was cheating.

A 47-year-old man from Texas will spend the rest of his life in jail for killing his wife two years ago, driving seven hours to strangle and stab her more than 30 times with a pair of scissors because he suspected she was having an affair.

District Judge Kyle Hawthorne sentenced Brian Alan Jutson Sr. to life in a state jail facility on Thursday for the murder of Sherry Shugart Jutson in 2023, according to court papers seen by Law&Crime.

Earlier this week, Brian Jutson pleaded guilty to one count of murder in connection with his wife’s death.

According to a College Station Police Department news release, officers responded to a 911 call from a residence in the 14000 block of Renee Lane. When first responders arrived, they reported finding an adult female, later identified as Sherry Jutson, in the home’s main bedroom with several stab wounds. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

“Through an investigation at the scene, it was determined that a domestic disturbance had occurred between a husband and a wife,” according to police. “The wife was fatally stabbed during the dispute. The husband fled the scene but was eventually apprehended with the help of [the Bryan, Texas, Police Department] and [the Department of Public Safety].”

Court documents obtained by Brazos Valley NBC station KAGS revealed further information regarding the fatal incident.

According to the complaint, Brian Jutson’s daughter called 911 and informed the dispatcher that her father had just slain her stepmother. The daughter reportedly informed officials that Brian Jutson called her and stated, “I think I might have killed her,” referring to Sherry Jutson.

Brian Jutson confessed to his wife’s death during an interview with police, telling detectives that he left his job in West Texas and drove seven hours straight to face Sherry because he suspected she was having an affair, according to local CBS affiliate KBTX. Jutson reportedly acknowledged to murdering his wife and repeatedly stabbing her with a pair of scissors.

Brian Jutson gave police horrifying details about the murder, stating he couldn’t remember how many times he stabbed Sherry Jutson, but he did recall her pleading with him during the attack, saying, “Baby, I love you, please stop.” “I’m dying.”

After murdering his wife, Brian Jutson washed to remove the blood from himself before leaving the house.

Despite Brian Jutson’s guilty plea, prosecutors presented evidence to jurors as part of the punishment phase of the trial. Such evidence included testimony regarding the horrific attack as well as several texts Brian Jutson made to his wife in the days leading up to her murder, according to KBTX.
