Jaylah Donald, a 19-year-old pregnant woman from Newton County, Georgia, and her unborn son died in a two-vehicle crash on November 28, 2025, after her mother Takila Donald allegedly backed their Hyundai Sonata improperly from a private driveway onto Fairview Road near Crestfield Circle, where it was struck on the passenger side by a westbound BMW driven by DUI suspect Brandon Robinson.
Crash Details
The collision occurred just after midnight during a family Thanksgiving gathering; Donalds were dropping off a neighbor when Takila failed to yield, leading to the impact that killed Jaylah at the scene and her seven-month fetus. Takila, 40s, suffered serious injuries including brain swelling and was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital on a ventilator, with uncertain recovery; Robinson also sustained multiple injuries.
Legal and Family Response
Robinson faces DUI charges, while additional charges pend against Takila; both drivers face pending accountability per Georgia State Patrol. Family members, including grandmother Genette Anderson and father Jonathan Ponds—who learned of the pregnancy hours prior—expressed profound grief, with a GoFundMe aiding funeral costs and describing Jaylah as full of life and dreams.
