Authorities allege that a Georgia mother killed her two babies more than three years apart by holding their noses.

A Georgia woman, Dakota Nicole Taylor, 21, from Wrens, faces murder charges for allegedly suffocating her two infant sons years apart by obstructing their nostrils. Authorities linked the deaths after her second son died, reopening the first case previously ruled undetermined.

Case Background

Taylor’s 7-month-old son Micah died in September 2021 at a DeKalb County home for teenage mothers; he was found slumped and pale in his swing after a bath. Her 8-month-old son Caleb was found unresponsive on January 8, 2025, in Matthews (Jefferson County) and died at a hospital despite efforts to revive him. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) alleges she deprived both of oxygen, causing excessive pain in Caleb’s case during a felony cruelty act.

Arrest and Charges

Arrested November 20, 2025, while already jailed in McDuffie County on related 2021 probes, Taylor faces malice murder, felony murder, and first-degree cruelty to children charges in both Jefferson and DeKalb Counties. Warrants detail suffocation by holding nostrils in the newer accusations.

Bond Hearing

On March 10, 2026, Jefferson County granted her $150,000 cash or $300,000 property bond, though family says she lacks funds to post it; no bond was given in DeKalb County in February. She’s held at Jefferson County jail. A DeKalb court date is set for April 7; plea and attorney details are unclear.
