Anderson police identified three persons suspected in the fatal shooting at Truth Bar and Grill

Anderson police identified three suspects in an early morning weekend shooting that killed two security guards and injured five others.

Anderson police detained Jamayas Howard, 24, Kevonn Duval Turner, 18, and Jamarcus Harold Brown, 18, in connection with the Truth Bar and Grill shooting on October 12. Brown was arrested on October 13; Turner on October 14; and Howard on October 15.

Brown and Turner face two counts of murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Howard is charged with two counts of murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and three counts of high-level assault and battery.

Calvin Chester Jr., 54, of Anderson, and Roymad Shaquil McDaniel, 30, were killed while working security at the nightclub. Five other persons were injured in the shooting. Their names have not been disclosed.

Anderson Police Chief Jim Stewart stated that investigators have identified the males as being engaged in the shooting.

Brown has been denied bond, while Turner’s hearing is scheduled for October 15. Howard’s bond hearing is not scheduled.

Anderson County 911 received reports of a shooting shortly after 3:15 a.m. on 208 W. Franklin Street in Anderson. When emergency responders came, they discovered many victims with gunshot wounds. Chester and McDaniel died on the site.
