An Iowa man who beat four people to death with a metal pipe has been convicted of numerous charges of murder.
Luke Truesdell was found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder and one count of second-degree murder on Monday, November 17, according to KCRG, the Des Moines Register, and KGAN.
According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Truesdell fatally beat Romondus Lamar Cooper, 44, Keonna Victoria Ryan, 26, Amanda Sue Parker, 33, and Brett Anthony Brown, 34, with a metal pipe in June 2024.
KCRG reported that the beatings took place in a separate garage in Marion, Iowa.
The sheriff’s office stated at the time that Truesdell’s likely motivation was “the possibility of the crime being made into a movie.”
According to the Register, the jury was not given access to the movie remarks.
According to investigators, all four victims experienced blunt force trauma. Brown was rushed to the hospital in severe condition and subsequently died. The remaining three were pronounced dead at the spot.
According to the Register, Truesdell informed police that he believed the persons he attacked were involved in sex trafficking, despite the lack of evidence to back up his claim. According to the publication, Truesdell claimed to be high on methamphetamine and hadn’t slept in two days.
Truesdell was convicted of first-degree murder in the killings of Ryan, Parker, and Brown, as well as second-degree murder in the death of Cooper, according to KCRG. He faces life in jail at his sentencing, which is set for February 27, 2026, according to the publication.
