After two months of dating, a 'cold-blooded' 23-year-old hacked off the head of her 55-year-old partner and left his headless body in her home.

A 23-year-old Anaheim woman, Alyssa Marie Lira, faces felony murder charges for allegedly decapitating her 55-year-old boyfriend, Enrique Gonzalez-Carbajal, after dating for two months, then fleeing to Mexico where she was arrested after five months on the run.

Case Details

Lira, an exotic dancer, is accused of killing Gonzalez-Carbajal on or around August 25, 2025, when his headless body was found in her home during a welfare check.
She reportedly fled immediately to Mexico, prompting a multi-agency manhunt involving Anaheim police, the Orange County DA’s Organized Crime Unit, FBI, and Mexican authorities.
No motive has been publicly released by prosecutors.

Arrest and Charges

Lira was detained in Mexico on January 22, 2026, and returned to the U.S. via San Ysidro the next day, leading to her booking on suspicion of murder.
She’s charged with one felony count of murder plus a weapon-use enhancement (knife), facing 26 years to life if convicted; she’s held without bail at Orange County Jail.
Arraignment is set for February 13, 2026.

Official Reactions

Orange County DA Todd Spitzer emphasized relentless pursuit across borders to ensure accountability for the “heinous” act.
DA spokesperson Kimberly Edds described the violence as “cold-blooded” and “brutal,” noting its heartbreak for the victim’s family despite the short relationship.
