Authorities are looking into the suspected murder of a US Air Force Lieutenant in Ohio, who was fatally shot by a coworker who then killed his wife and himself.
According to a news release from the West Milton Police Department, US Air Force 1st Lt. Jaime Gustitus, 25, of Sugarcreek Township, Ohio, was murdered when Jacob Prichard, 34, of Huber Heights, broke into her apartment at 2 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, and fatally shot her.
Prichard had also slain his wife, Jaymee Prichard, 33, and placed her body in the trunk of their car before driving to the West Milton Municipal parking lot at 4:22 a.m., where he committed suicide a minute later near the open trunk, according to the sheriff’s office.
Prichard left the trunk open “so officers who found him would also find Jaymee Prichard in the trunk,” according to the sheriff’s office, which analyzed security footage of the event.
Authorities said they have no idea when or where Jaymee Prichard was slain and are presently investigating the timeline of events. Now, there are doubts regarding why Prichard killed Gustitus, the couple’s work acquaintance.
According to an announcement from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Gustitus and Jacob worked in the Air Force Research Laboratory and Jaymee in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center.
