Xzavion Johnson, an 18-year-old from Laveen, Arizona, allegedly killed his 57-year-old neighbor David Jimenez on December 29, 2025, during a burglary attempt and then lived in the victim’s home for about two weeks.​
Incident Details
Johnson reportedly entered Jimenez’s backyard through an open side gate armed with a stolen gun, shot the homeowner three times when confronted, and covered the body with blankets in the backyard. He then used Jimenez’s credit cards, drove his vehicle, and had packages delivered to the address.​
Discovery and Arrest
On January 12, 2026, Johnson’s mother noticed a foul odor, a package addressed to her son at Jimenez’s home, and called police for a welfare check. Officers found Jimenez’s decomposed body in the backyard, contacted Johnson inside after he barricaded himself, and arrested him following an extended standoff.​
Charges and Status
Johnson faces first-degree murder, burglary, and related charges, held on a $1 million cash bond in Maricopa County Jail. Police state he confessed during interrogation, and no other suspects are involved.
