Marlon Perilloux, 33, and Raynisa Young, 27, face negligent homicide charges in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, after their 5-year-old son, Marley Perilloux, died on January 1, 2026, from severe malnourishment weighing just 19 pounds.
Incident Response
Deputies responded to a medical emergency at a Geismar gas station around 9 p.m., finding Marley unresponsive; CPR and hospital efforts failed after 40-45 minutes. At 35 inches tall, his emaciated body fit an infant-sized body bag, described by Col. Donald Capello as the worst neglect case in his 34 years of service.
Investigation Findings
A search of their “barely livable” home revealed trash-littered floors, stained mattresses, and neglect of hygiene, feeding, and medical care; Marley had been bedridden and never left. The parents face additional charges including second-degree cruelty to juveniles, marijuana distribution intent, drug paraphernalia, and illegal weapons; three other children were removed by the state.
Ongoing Probe
An autopsy awaits to confirm cause of death, with potential upgraded charges as the investigation continues; both remain jailed without bond.
