According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, one youngster was arrested for a violent offense over the weekend after pulling out a gun at a Chuck E. Cheese in South Carolina, while another is charged with driving him away from the scene.
Tavares McFadden-World, 19, of Richland County, was charged on Saturday with kidnapping, second-degree assault and battery, tampering with evidence, and three counts of pointing and presenting, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department.
According to the announcement, a 19-year-old South Carolina citizen named Kenzie Miller was charged with obstruction of justice.
According to the sheriff’s department, the allegations arise from an incident at the Chuck E. Cheese restaurant, playground, and arcade at 1775 Burning Tree Drive. That is in Columbia, near Interstate 26’s Exit 106, which connects with St. Andrews Road.
Guns out.
According to the announcement, deputies responded to a civil disturbance with a weapon at Chuck E. Cheese around 4:20 p.m. on Saturday. Deputies learned from various victims and witnesses that McFadden-World had pointed a gun at three different people, according to the sheriff’s department.
According to the incident report, one victim told deputies that McFadden-World was staring at the table where two of the victims were sitting before pulling out the revolver. According to the incident report, the victim lowered his head before noting that everyone else at his table had stood up as McFadden-World approached with the gun in hand.
It was unclear why McFadden-World brought out the gun and particularly targeted these individuals.
McFadden-World pointed the gun at both of the victims at the table, according to the victim’s testimony to deputies. The victim stated that he left Chuck E. Cheese, but McFadden-World followed him outside, where the adolescent seized the victim’s jacket with his left hand and restricted his movement with the gun in his right, according to the incident report. The victim was held against his will, and McFadden-World threatened to kill him, according to the sheriff’s department.
According to the incident report, McFadden-World got into Miller’s vehicle and exited Chuck E. Cheese.
According to the sheriff’s department, McFadden-World was not the only individual with a firearm at Chuck E. Cheese.
Damontre Williams, who told deputies that McFadden-World had pointed a gun at him, retaliated by flashing his own firearm as McFadden-World and Miller fled, according to the sheriff’s department.
According to the incident report, Williams and McFadden-World engaged in a confrontation outside, with the men staring at each other until McFadden-World took a revolver from his waistband. According to the incident report, Williams then retrieved a revolver from his truck and returned as McFadden-World and Miller drove away.
The sheriff’s department stated that Williams’ gun was taken into evidence. Despite being charged with breach of peace for generating fear among Chuck E. Cheese customers and personnel at the establishment famed for children’s birthday parties and festivities, Williams was released, according to the incident report.
The incident report stated that several unfired gunshots were discovered at the entrance to Chuck E. Cheese.
There were no injuries recorded.
Returning to be arrested.
While deputies were speaking with witnesses, one of them spotted Miller’s vehicle return to the area, according to the release. Deputies detained McFadden-World and Miller without incident, and McFadden-World admitted to pointing and presenting a pistol at the Chuck E. Cheese, according to the press release.
Miller admitted driving McFadden-World away in her vehicle after observing him conduct a felony, according to the sheriff’s department.
Miller did not respond when asked why she offered McFadden-World a ride, where she transported him, or what he did there, according to the incident report.
The sheriff’s department reported that McFadden-World and Miller were detained and put into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. While McFadden-World is still in jail, Miller is not on the jail’s inmate roster, despite the fact that his bond has been set at $75,000 on all charges.
