Charlotte, North Carolina — According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), a woman was killed in a shooting in the SouthPark area on Monday morning near the mall.
Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on Barclay Downs Drive north of Fairview Road shortly before 7 a.m. on October 13, where they discovered a woman shot. It’s unknown whether the incident occurred inside or outside the facility.
The woman was rushed to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, but CMPD eventually determined that the incident was homicide.
Authorities have not stated what caused the incident or whether anyone was apprehended.
