A Florida woman has been sentenced to 180 days in jail and seven years of probation after repeatedly stabbing her teenage sister following a dispute over a cell phone.
Incident and Arrest
Lynn My Le, 26, was involved in the October 2025 attack in Cutler Bay, Florida. She was arrested on October 26 at her South Florida home, according to CBS News, Local 10, and the Tampa Free Press. Court records show the sentence was handed down on May 4, 2026.
Details of the Attack
The incident began when Le’s 15-year-old sister woke up on the couch to find Le looking through her phone. When the teen confronted her and tried to retrieve the device, Le allegedly armed herself with a knife and stabbed her sister multiple times.
Deputies said the teen suffered at least four stab wounds in the back while trying to flee, followed by roughly six more stabs after she collapsed. Le reportedly only stopped after the victim pleaded for her life.
“The teen is critical, but stable,” Detective Samantha Choon told the Miami Herald at the time of the attack.
Charges and Conviction
Le was initially charged with second-degree attempted murder. However, she was ultimately convicted of aggravated battery resulting in bodily harm. Due to the new charge, her sentence was focused more on probation than prison time.
Court Orders and Sentencing
In addition to her jail sentence, the court imposed a domestic violence stay-away order against Le. The judge dismissed the initial attempted murder charge and emphasised probation as a key component of her sentence, reflecting the nature of the new conviction.
