A woman angered over'social media conversations' killed a young mother during their first face-to-face meeting.

Alyssa Partsch, 33, of Massachusetts, has been sentenced to 15–20 years in prison for the 2023 stabbing death of 21‑year‑old Jazreanna A. Sheppard Gonzalez, whom she killed during their first in‑person meeting after a heated social‑media feud. Associate Superior Judge Mary K. Ames handed down the sentence after Partsch took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to manslaughter, avoiding a second‑degree‑murder trial.

How the attack unfolded

Prosecutors say the violence grew out of a series of hostile online exchanges in which Partsch allegedly threatened Sheppard and tried to goad her into a physical fight. Both women had never met in person before July 20, 2023.

That night, Sheppard was walking with a friend toward the Park Street MBTA station in downtown Boston after spending time in Boston Common near the Brewer Fountain. As she approached the station pavilion, Partsch confronted her with a knife. Surveillance footage captured the pair fighting, then Partsch repeatedly stabbing Sheppard in the face, head, and torso before fleeing through the MBTA system.

First responders found Sheppard with life‑threatening stab wounds and rushed her to a hospital, where she later died.

Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office built the case using witness testimony and video evidence documenting the confrontation. Authorities arrested Partsch months later, on November 4, 2023, after locating her in Dorchester.

At Wednesday’s sentencing, Sheppard’s family delivered emotional victim‑impact statements, describing her as a “deeply loved human being” whose heart was given to everyone around her. Judge Ames called the killing “senseless” and stressed that Sheppard’s young child would grow up without his mother, urging Partsch to recognize the lasting harm she caused.

District Attorney Kevin Hayden described the stabbing as a “senseless, impossible‑to‑understand moment of violence” and praised the family’s courage in speaking publicly about their loss. Partsch’s 15–20‑year sentence means she will serve at least 15 years in state prison before being eligible for release.
