A Texas driver was arrested for suspected DWI after clipping a banana truck, causing it to overturn and spill its load on a highway service road.
Crash Breakdown
On March 15, 2026, around 2:50 a.m., Iverri Johnson, 37, allegedly swerved his Audi into the northbound lanes of U.S. 75 near Legacy Drive in Plano to catch an exit. This forced the 18-wheeler to overcorrect, veer onto the service road, hit a sign pole, and flip, scattering banana crates. The semi driver suffered only minor injuries, and roads from Spring Creek Parkway to Legacy stayed closed for hours during cleanup.
Arrest and Outcome
Johnson faced DWI charges; no other serious injuries were reported. Officer Jerry Minton noted the truck’s evasive move couldn’t prevent the rollover once off the highway. This incident underscores risks of abrupt lane changes, especially at high speeds or impaired—luckily no fatalities here.
