A 16‑year‑old boy was shot and killed inside a public housing building in Brooklyn on Monday evening, police say.
Shooting in Sheepshead Bay
Around 6 p.m., officers from the NYPD responded to reports of a shooting inside a NYCHA (New York City Housing Authority) building on Avenue X, between Nostrand Avenue and Batchelder Street, in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found the teen unconscious with a gunshot wound to the chest inside the housing complex. Emergency medical personnel transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released.
Investigation Underway
As of late Monday night:
