A person was stabbed on a CATS bus near North Tryon and Ashby on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m., resulting in a massive police response.
A video from the scene showed several students coming off the bus, and cops were seen working inside the bus, notably near the driver’s seat.
“I thought about it after the stabbing on the train, I was a little skeptical about riding the bus, but I carry pepper spray with me so that’s my security when I’m out in public,” Tori Govan, a passenger, told me.
While the police haven’t revealed much details about the incident, the fact that homicide detectives were not summoned suggests that the victim may have survived.
“No, I haven’t seen any incidents on the bus since I started riding,” said Tadford Davis, a bus passenger who was astonished by the news.
Davis stated that he tries to be unseen while riding the bus, stating, “I stay to myself, get on and off where I’m going, and that’s it. “Mind my business.”
As authorities continue to investigate, the victim’s status is unknown, and no arrests have been recorded.
