Colerain Township, Ohio – Kayvon Warren, 30, has been charged with two counts of murder, along with several other charges, in connection to the 2023 deaths of India Kinamore, 26, and her unborn child. The murder occurred on March 4, 2023, the day Kinamore was scheduled to give birth to Warren’s baby.
The Murder
Authorities were called to a report of a person shot at around 4:39 a.m. local time on that fateful day. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Kinamore, who was in the late stages of pregnancy, pronounced dead from gunshot wounds. Tragically, her unborn child also died as a result of the attack.
The Colerain Police Department (CPD) launched an investigation and later arrested Kayvon Warren, along with Robert Ervin, 20, and Lamar Morris Suggs, 22, in connection to the incident.
The Plot Behind the Murder
In a statement issued by the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office on Aug. 28, 2023, prosecutor Connie Pillich revealed disturbing details about the motive behind the murder. Investigators found that Warren was involved with another woman at the time of Kinamore’s death. Warren, allegedly in financial distress, had plotted to kill Kinamore to prevent her from having the baby.
According to Pillich, Warren and his accomplices broke into Kinamore’s home, intending to stage a burglary. It was also revealed that Warren had requested bereavement leave from his job prior to Kinamore’s death, a detail that emphasizes the premeditated nature of the crime.
“It should have been one of the happiest days of India’s life,” said Pillich. “Instead, the father of the child conspired with two others to kill her. It is heartbreaking. My office will see that justice is done for both India and her baby.”
Defendants’ Claims and Legal Proceedings
Warren’s attorney, Clyde Bennett, denied that Warren had any intention to terminate the pregnancy, arguing that his client wanted the child.
As for Robert Ervin, his attorney, Robert Jones, claimed that Ervin had no ties to the crime.
It remains unclear whether Lamar Suggs has legal representation at this time.
Current Legal Status
Warren and Ervin are currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on $600,000 bonds. Suggs, meanwhile, is serving time for unrelated charges in Ohio.
Community Impact and Investigation
The tragic death of India Kinamore and her unborn child has left the community in shock. The heinous crime has also prompted a wider conversation about domestic violence and the premeditated nature of this attack on a woman and her child. Authorities have vowed to ensure justice for both victims.
