A Jeep driver was killed after colliding with a tractor trailer in Chester County, according to SCHP

Great Falls, South Carolina — A motorist was killed in a tractor-trailer crash in Chester County on Wednesday morning.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Pendergrass Boulevard (SC 200) and Catawba River Road (US 21) in Great Falls. According to troopers, a 2025 Freightliner was going east on Pendergrass when it was struck by a 2024 Jeep Wrangler on Catawba River Road.

The driver of the Jeep died on the spot near the Catawba River bridge; their identity has not been published. The status of the tractor-trailer driver remains unknown.

The crash is still under investigation.
