A tragic hit-and-run in Midtown Manhattan has left a community shaken after a 69-year-old woman was fatally struck early Tuesday morning.
Deadly Crash in Early Morning Hours
According to police, the incident happened around 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of East 57th Street and Second Avenue. The woman was hit by a black SUV that was reportedly speeding through the area.
The impact was so severe that it knocked her off her feet, and her shoes were thrown off during the crash. Emergency responders rushed her to Weill Cornell Medical Center, but she later died from her injuries.
