Keith Roberts Jr., 29, allegedly shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, Myshaela Burnham, 29, at her workplace in a Bradenton, Florida, medical and office complex on Thursday afternoon, January 15, 2026, also wounding a coworker.
Incident Overview
Roberts entered an unlocked suite in the 5200 block of 4th Avenue Circle East around 12:48 p.m., armed with a shotgun and handgun, and went directly to Burnham’s desk for a point-blank attack. The shotgun blast struck Burnham fatally and hit the nearby coworker due to proximity; he then fired a handgun at her multiple times. Police Chief Jason Cramer described the act as “cruel” and “evil,” noting Roberts knew exactly where Burnham sat.
Arrest and Charges
Witnesses reported Roberts fleeing in a vehicle toward the DeSoto Bridge, leading to his quick arrest in Palmetto within 25 minutes. He agreed to an interview with Manatee Homicide detectives and faces first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, held without bond at Manatee County Jail. The injured coworker underwent surgery and stabilized, while Burnham, a mother, died at the scene.
