The family—Lizbeth Rodriguez Contreras (27), Diego Pena Jr. (26), their daughter Camila Pena (5), and a 3-year-old boy—were returning from a holiday party; Contreras and Camila died at the scene, Pena Jr. died at a hospital, leaving the toddler in critical but stable condition.​

Majesti Faith Lee sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was hospitalized, then arrested on December 24 by Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, charged with intoxication manslaughter (enhanced to a first-degree felony) and intoxication assault. Her bond is set at $1,050,000; records show a prior 2023 DWI charge in Harris County, dismissed in 2024 for insufficient evidence. Alcohol was confirmed as a contributing factor.​
