A 31‑year‑old California man, Marshall Campbell Judson, has been charged with three counts of murder, along with several other felonies, in connection with a deadly crash in Pomona, California, on April 1, 2026, that killed a young couple and their unborn child.

How the crash happened

Around 10:11 p.m., Pomona police responded to a domestic‑violence call at a residence when Judson allegedly returned to the scene and began driving aggressively past two patrol cars. Prosecutors say he reversed directly into one of the patrol cars, narrowly missing an officer and the caller. He then fled at speeds over 100 miles per hour in a 35‑mph residential area.

During the high‑speed flight, Judson allegedly struck the car being driven by Marc Anthony Trejo Saldivar, 26, with his pregnant girlfriend Jennifer Alejandra Loera Zarco, 25, in the passenger seat. Both were killed in the collision. Loera Zarco was due to give birth on April 20; their unborn child also died in the crash.

Charges and what was found

Judson was arrested at the scene, and an unlicensed firearm was allegedly found in his vehicle. In addition to the three murder counts (for the couple and the unborn child), he is charged with:

  • Three counts of fleeing a pursuing peace officer’s motor vehicle causing death
  • One count of assault with a deadly weapon upon a peace officer
  • One count of carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle that was loaded and not registered

It has not yet been publicly confirmed whether he has entered a plea.

Impact on the victims’ family

GoFundMe page set up by Trejo’s family describes the couple as “kind, loving, and genuine” people who were building a future and eagerly preparing to welcome their baby. The crash, police say, was a direct result of Judson’s reckless, high‑speed flight from officers responding to a domestic‑violence incident, turning what should have been a routine call into a triple‑fatality tragedy.
