A 22-year-old lady was shot and killed in an alleged “ambush” type murder.

According to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department, singer Maria De La Rosa, who recorded music under the moniker DELAROSA, was one of three victims in the fatal event on Saturday, Nov. 22.

At at 1:25 a.m. local time, police received reports of shooting near Bryant Street east of Tampa Avenue in Northridge.

According to the news statement, witnesses reported seeing two male suspects approach a parked vehicle on Bryant Street before firing multiple shots into it.

De La Rosa suffered gunshot wounds and died at a local hospital, according to authorities.

KTLA reported that the two other victims were in critical condition Saturday morning.

Police have not detained any suspects, and the motivation is unknown.

In her farewell Instagram post, dated October 30, De La Rosa hinted at new songs.

“I’m cooking in Stu 🎶👩🏻‍🍳, don’t call me 🪄🪞🐩. Now is the time… GAME TIME BABY,” she captioned the post in Spanish, which translates to “Busy cooking in the Stu. Do not call me. It’s almost that time.

De La Rosa released her final single, “No Me Llames,” in August.

Since the announcement of her passing, tributes have poured in on social media.

As others mourned the promising star, a woman named Deyanira De La Rosa, who appears to be a relative of the deceased, reshared several messages on the late singer’s Instagram Stories.

In one of the letters, Devin Christiansen, who wrote that he met De La Rosa in a gym “about 9-10 years ago” when he “had absolutely nothing,” said the singer spotted his promise and helped him locate an agent to jumpstart his career.

“I couldn’t be thankful enough to have met her at a time when I was at my lowest,” he had written.

“Fast forward years later, and only two days ago on my Instagram, I read that there had been an unfortunate shooting that killed a young 22-year-old woman not far from me. I didn’t put two and two together. “One of my partners informed me that it was Deyanira’s daughter Maria,” Christiansen stated.

He went on to say, “I am really sorry for your loss. God has received an angel. I remember how much you discussed her future and how pleased you were of her. During this time, I ask that you all pray for her and her family. There are no words to explain the depths of loss and pain. God, I beseech you to lay your hands on this family and guide them toward peace.”

PEOPLE contacted Deyanira De La Rosa for comment, but did not receive an immediate answer.
