Chesterfield County deputies arrested a 13-year-old child on Sunday in connection with several larceny incidents.
The youngster is charged with five counts of grand theft, four counts of petit larceny, and one act of credit card fraud, the sheriff said.
Deputies investigated a report of fraud at the Blue-Sky Mart in Pageland, where a stolen credit card was used.
The victim stated that her credit card had been stolen from her vehicle on August 31.
Witnesses described the kid and the vehicle he left in, prompting authorities to perform a traffic check.
The adolescent originally claimed to have found the credit card, but video surveillance revealed that he used the stolen card.
During the interaction, it was revealed that the youngster was carrying a GPS tracking device.
Investigators discovered that the youngster had recently relocated to the Pageland area after facing 18 previous charges in Lancaster County for similar crimes.
Coordination with Lancaster County officials established that GPS data showed the youngster in areas where vehicles had been reported stolen or broken into in Chesterfield County.
Stolen automobiles were identified and recovered.
Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Camrys (two), Ford Focus, Chevrolet Traverse, and Golf Cart.
The kid is presently in custody and was due for a family court bail hearing on Tuesday.
