A Florida teenager has been arrested after allegedly asking ChatGPT for help on killing someone.

The 13-year-old was reported to authorities in Deland, Fla., for reportedly asking ChatGPT how to kill his friend during class, according to a Volusia Sheriff’s Office statement.

PEOPLE will not name the youngster since he is a minor.

On September 26, the sheriff’s office stated that officers arrived to the school when a school resource deputy at Southwestern Middle School reported the boy, who allegedly wrote in a ChatGPT window: “How to kill my friend in the middle of class.”

They received the alert through Gaggle, a school-safety program that checks school-issued accounts and alerts suspicious content.

Law authorities arrived promptly to the school, and during questioning, the child allegedly stated that he was “trolling” a friend who had irritated him.

“Another ‘joke’ that created an emergency on campus,” the sheriff’s office said, advising parents to “talk to your kids so they don’t make the same mistake.”

Additional details concerning the teen’s arrest, including the accusations he faces, were not immediately available.

Southwestern Middle School and OpenAI, the parent firm of ChatGPT, did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
