CUDJOE KEY, FL — A Florida man has been arrested in connection with the brutal killing of his wife in their Cudjoe Key home, authorities said. Bradly Shawn Shadduck, 56, faces a second-degree murder charge for the death of 62-year-old Lynne Alane Shadduck.
Discovery of the Crime
On Thursday morning, just before 6 a.m., deputies responded to the Shadduck residence on Maracaibo Lane after a neighbor called 911 on behalf of Bradly Shadduck. According to reports, Shadduck appeared at the neighbor’s door naked, covered only by a Cleveland Browns blanket, and urged the neighbor to call 911, claiming the house was “full of blood.”
Deputies found the home in “complete disarray,” with broken objects scattered throughout and extensive blood smears and pools across the floors. The victim was found lying in a hallway, covered in blood and bruises, unconscious but still breathing. She was transported to Lower Keys Medical Center, where she later died.
Alleged Account by Defendant
During questioning, Shadduck reportedly offered minimal details, claiming the disarray was due to “rough sex” and that he had passed out after drinking. Surveillance footage shows him attempting to gain access to neighbors’ homes before the 911 call, leaving bloody handprints on railings.
The arrest report indicates a “significant fight and struggle” occurred, though Shadduck himself sustained no injuries.
Criminal Record and Detention
Shadduck has a history of boating and traffic infractions but no prior criminal record in Monroe County. He is being held at the Monroe County Detention Center without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 5.
