A Washington man is in jail after a high-speed crash that killed his friend and injured two others in Spokane.
The Crash
Salom Batlok, 22, is accused of vehicular homicide in the death of 21-year-old Dewayne Aiseia, along with two counts of vehicular assault. The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on May 8 near W. Airport Drive and S. Spotted Road. Batlok allegedly drove his BMW into a pole after a night of drinking and using a THC vape pen.
Investigation Details
Police found multiple open containers of alcohol in the car, and Batlok admitted to drinking heavily and using a THC “dab pen” all night. Initially, he claimed Aiseia was driving, but photos showed Batlok behind the wheel, and he later admitted to being the driver.
Injuries and Charges
Two other passengers, a 19-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, suffered serious injuries including broken legs and teeth. Batlok remains in jail with bond set at $250,000. His next court date is June 22.
