A Florida man who killed his father during what authorities described as a paranoid and violent attack has been sentenced to decades in prison.

A judge in Palm Beach County sentenced McGann Jr. to 38 years in prison. He received credit for time already served in jail.
Authorities Say Attack Stemmed From Vaccine Anger
According to investigators with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the attack happened in February 2024 at a home in Lake Worth.
Court documents said a longtime family friend contacted 911 after hearing a disturbing phone call involving McGann Jr. and his father.
The witness reportedly described McGann Jr. as paranoid, intoxicated, and angry after learning his father had received a vaccine.
Officials did not specify which vaccine was involved.
Witness Heard Violent Assault Over Phone
Investigators said the witness heard screaming, physical violence, and the victim pleading for help during the phone call.
According to court records, the father reportedly said, “Stop, you are killing me.”
The witness then called emergency services.
Suspect Found Covered in Blood
Deputies responding to the scene reportedly found McGann Jr. attempting to flee the property.
Authorities said he was covered in blood and had swollen, injured hands consistent with a violent struggle.
Inside the home, officers discovered McGann Sr. unresponsive on the floor with severe injuries.
The medical examiner later ruled the death a homicide caused by blunt force trauma.
