A tragic stabbing case in Burbank has left a beloved teacher dead and her daughter seriously injured, with police now making an arrest in the case.

According to the Burbank Police Department, Sergio Fraire, 30, has been arrested on suspicion of:

- Attempted murder
The charges are connected to the stabbing of Arti Varma, 59, and her daughter, identified by reports as Meera Varma, 25.
What Happened
Police responded around 6 a.m. on April 20 to a home on North Brighton Street after receiving reports of a stabbing.
When officers arrived:
- They found both women suffering from stab wounds
- Both were taken to the hospital
- Arti Varma later died from her injuries
- Her daughter remains in stable condition
