CHARLESTON, S.C. — Charleston County deputies and other emergency crews responded to a scene off Bees Ferry Road Thursday morning, near the Sanders Road train tracks. Law enforcement was reported at the location early in the morning, and an Amtrak train appeared to have been stopped on the tracks.
Investigation Unfolds at the Scene
After the train moved, crime scene tape was visible at the location, suggesting further investigation. Dispatch information initially indicated a crash with injuries, and authorities arrived to assess the situation.
Potential Death Investigation Underway
Charleston County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lexi Douglas confirmed that the train was stopped as part of a potential death investigation.
