According to NCPD, after stealing a hockey stick and a rubber chicken, a man dropped them and fled on

An arrest was made Saturday after a man allegedly broke into a shed at the Lake Ashley Mobile Home Park on Dorchester Road, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of a burglary and obtained a description of the suspect, who was said to have left the scene on a scooter with several stolen items.

Trail of Dropped Items Leads to Suspect

Police said officers followed a trail of belongings dropped along the suspect’s path. The items reportedly included a hockey stick, a rubber chicken, charcoal pieces, a basket and small pieces of metal.

Authorities also found a crowbar at the base of the shed, which they said had been forced open.

Charges Filed, Suspect Booked

John Schifferli, 56, was located shortly after the incident. Police said narcotics were also found inside his backpack.

Schifferli was charged with breaking and entering and possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
