A homicide investigation began on February 6, 2026, in northwest Charlotte near the 9700 block of Callabridge Court, close to Brookshire Boulevard and Mt. Holly Huntersville Road. CMPD officers responded around 10:32-11 a.m. to an assault with a deadly weapon call and found a female victim who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound in a parking lot near a Bank of America; she was pronounced dead on scene by MEDIC.
Investigation Status
Police quickly detained a person of interest later that day in CMPD’s Freedom Division after following leads from the scene. No arrests or suspect identity have been publicly confirmed, and the motive remains undisclosed as the case is active.
