A man was detained for lying to federal officials and threatening to "shoot up" airports in South Carolina.

Ahmad Z’yiem Guilford, 21, from near Georgetown airport, faces federal charges for making interstate threats and false statements to agents after targeting aviation businesses in Charleston, Georgetown, and Florence airports.

Threat Details
From November 2025, Guilford allegedly used spoofed phone numbers for graphic calls, including raping a Charleston flight school employee and “shooting up” Charleston and Georgetown airports on November 14. On December 18, he threatened to “shoot that **** up” at Florence airport, taunting “y’all can’t find me because I’m making different numbers.”

Investigation and Arrest
FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, with local agencies, traced calls to Guilford over airplane noise complaints; he admitted revving his engine at the airport but initially denied calls, later conceding voice match. Arrested pre-Christmas, he appeared in Florence federal court January 20, 2026, detained until his January 23 hearing, facing up to 10 years if convicted.
