Pass, a popular Charleston artisan deli, recently opened its second location in Mount Pleasant at 976 Houston Northcutt Blvd. in Northcutt Plaza.
Location Details
This new spot mirrors the original downtown menu at 207 St. Philip St., featuring Italian-inspired panini like the “Such a Nice Italian Boy” and Cacio e Pepe, plus a market with antipasti, beer, wine, and catering options. The Mount Pleasant site seats about 25 indoors with outdoor options and targets families alongside the tourist crowd from downtown.
Background
Chef Anthony Marini launched The Pass in 2021 after moving to Charleston during the pandemic, initially planning sandwiches as a temporary concept in a space without a full kitchen. The expansion follows strong demand from Mount Pleasant customers, with plans announced in late 2025 and the opening on January 5, 2026.
Evening Experience
The original location hosts “The Italian Boy After Dark” on Wednesday through Saturday evenings—a six-course tasting menu with cheese, crudo, pasta, and an Amaro cart, limited to 12 seats. This setup evokes an Italian rowhome dining vibe and complements the daytime deli focus.
